2023-2024 Principal's Message

Welcome to Ellicott High School. We are excited to begin the 2023-24 school year on August 9th.  It has been a great summer, and the Ellicott High School staff is eager to get back to our students.  Over the summer, teachers have been attending trainings, planning, and collaborating to best serve our students.

Ellicott High School will be a place of opportunity for all.  In the past couple years, we have increased our concurrent enrollment options by adding UCCS Pre-Collegiate as another option to our Career Start partnership with Pikes Peak.  Upon entering a four-year college or university, students are able to earn up to 24 college credits while still being a high school student through coursework created specifically for Ellicott High School students. Students who qualify are able to take these classes on-campus at UCCS once a week.

Ellicott School District leadership and the Board have committed to providing new academic opportunities for our students. We are thankful to add 2 new English teachers, Mrs. Garretson and Mr. McCann, a new math teacher with Mrs. Kirk , including a new Spanish teacher, Ms. Mancilla. The high school has created some new classes such as Cybersecurity and Animal Agriculture. Ellicott is intent on providing technology literacy opportunities to match our ever-changing world.  In addition to having a top Welding program, we are expanding other Career and Technical Education options.

Ellicott also offers many different clubs and activities for our students.  What is unique to Ellicott is that any student can participate in any activity, club, or student organization.  The only requirement is the effort and the energy of the student.  We hope that all of our students can find an activity that matches their interests, and we are always open to meeting our students' needs in this regard.

We are very proud of the students here at Ellicott High School.  The entire staff at the high school can't wait to see our young men and women grow into productive members of our community and the world.
